Road Trips

We took a road trip to Walnut Creek, CA. It took 6 days of driving, 5 hotels, 1 water park, 15 restaurants, 4 tanks of gas, 10 bathroom stops, 1 birthday party, a great wedding reception and 0 tantrums.

Rawn and Frank's house is simply beautiful. They were so busy getting ready for the party but still took time to make us feel welcome and to play with the girls. Keira loves her uncles and Paijey even gave goodbye kisses. The vow renewal was just amazing. Congrats to my sil Janine and her wife Geri and to Rawn and Frank. We Couldnt ask for better inlaws.

Keira got to play with all her cousins she has missed since Christmas. She talks about Lelia, Jess and Reece all the time. Not to mention Grandma and Grandpa. Rawn and Frank let us have a mini party for Keira's 5th birthday since it was the same day as the reception. We had cake and presents on Friday after a fun filled day at the water park. Keira is a little fish in the water and she told us all multiple times that it was the best birthday ever!

Paije decided to potty train while on the trip so that was fun. Although I didnt have to change one poppy diaper. Now that we are back home we need to really get working on her more.

Sorry I haven't updated this blog. We have been very busy the last month.

It's been really cold here. Although now it doesn't get dark until almost 6pm. YAY! I feel its been dark forever. I remember the first year in Canada it was hard to get use to the weather and the long dark hours of winter. It wasn't that bad this time around but i am missing the warm sun.

Keira is starting to learn to read. She recognizes a few words and has memorized about 4 books now. She missed a week of school because she was sick. Poor thing missed her Valentines party. She has finally learned to pedal her bike. It was getting so frustrating trying to get her to pedal forward. Keira also just finished baskeball from the Y. She had alot of fun. Jeff took her to the reptile zoo. She loved holding all the snakes and even touched a Madagascar cockroach. EEEHHH!

Paije is coming into her own. She is talking a lot now. I can mostly understand her and when I cant Keira can. Poor thing got her sister's cold and finally learned to blow her nose. It only took two days of me sitting on her to hold her down to use the bulb. She got tired of that pretty quick. Paije also loved basketball. She is too young to get signed up but the coach let her practice with the kids. If you yell DEFENSE she stands with her arms out and knees bent. Paije has also learned to count to 10 and can mostly say her ABC's. She tries to read books too.

Jeff and I are doing good. Jeff had a case of Mirsa but we caught it in time and its all cleared up. We had a couples card night last week and had a blast. We have also had a date night. We went out for sushi and just hung out. I love those times. Its nice to reconnect and have time to ourselves without having to deal with the girls.

Fun at Christmas

We went to the in-laws after Christmas. Keira was so excited. She loves to visit family. I love that they have room for us. The girls slept in one room and us in another. The girls met up with 3 of their cousins. Keira just loved it. She still talks about Jess, Reece, and Leila. Leila was so much fun. She is 4 months older then Paije but such a big girl. Paije is very much still a baby compared to her. All three girls loved playing together. Paije and Leila loved bowling. Keira would rather be in the arcade. Grandma watch all three girls while the adults went to dinner. They got along just fine. Keira is always talking about her new girl cousin. Asking when she gets to see her again. Its those times we feel bad about moving away from family.

Paije made quite the impression on Grandpa. She wrote all over the leather computer chair with a ball point pen. Then when they were baby sitting she spilled grandpa's beer all over the rug. The beer came up but the pen is still there. Grandpa said he was going to put her name and year on it. Paije loves Grandma. She went to her almost immediately. It was nice. Paije and Keira get up early lucky for me so does grandma! THANK YOU GRANDMA!

Paije also loved Jess. She went to him as much as she could. He is so good with my girls. Poor kid had 3 girls fighting over him. Of course Keira called him boy for the first part of the day. Hey boy come here. Boy Boy lol we all had to keep telling her his name. Keira and Reece played with grandpa's target gun. Dont worry it shoots wiffle darts. You turn the machine on and it blows air on to ping pong balls and then you shoot them down.

We had alot of fun. It was a really good trip. It was much easier then the last time when we had babies. Keira just keeps asking when we are going back. I will post some pictures but some are still lost on my other c-drive. Oh ya my lap top died while we were there. Right after I uploaded about 300 pictures. Fun stuff!

Two suitcases, two backpacks, 2 car seats, 1 computer bag, 1 carry on suitcase, and a stroller. Traveling with kids sucks. Anyone who has done it knows it sucks. No matter how much time you take to prepare and pack ahead of time it still feels like there isn't enough time to get things done. We have to wake up at 4am tomorrow and Drive to the airport. We prepaid out valet parking and then get to go through airport security with a computer bag, 2 back packs, a stroller and one car seat. Oh ya don't forget they make everyone take off their shoes, including the children, oh and we need to take both computers out of the backpacks, and make sure no liquids are in the sippy cups. Can they make it any harder for a family to travel???? Just pray that the children are still alive and that I didn't leave Jeff on the side of the road somewhere, before we get to Grandma's and grandpa's.

We had a great Christmas morning. Santa brought the girls a kitchen and 2 stockings. He left the gifts in the playroom and even set up the kitchen! Both girls went running for the kitchen and played there for about 20 minutes before Keira remembered there was more gifts under the tree. Keira got some princess books and figures, the fairies collection, tag reading system, a barbie and her car. Paije got the backyardigans circus and figures, books, little people minivan, and more figures for it. They both got books, art supplies, and building blocks to share. Daddy got a PS3, heated seat cover for his car, and Keira picked out heated socks cause daddy's feet are always cold. Mommy got a new camera, Tinkerbell mug, and a hair iron. This is the first Christmas that Keira really understood what was going on. She was up until midnight trying to wait for santa. I went to check on her at 11:15 to find she was still awake. When I opened the door she Thought Santa had come. We kept telling her Santa doesnt come until she is asleep. Both girls were up by 8am. Needless to say I am sure Keira will nap today. Christmas tree fun

This year we went to St. Nicks tree farm where we (meaning Jeff) cut down our own christmas tree. It was raining but we had alot of fun. The girls were really muddy but oh well. We decorated the tree the next day. Paije really had fun. Keira and Paije made sure the bottom of the tree was fully decorated. Here are the pictures.

My baby is 2. She still lets me call her a baby. In fact she likes it. But at the same time she is such a little girl. She is talking so much now. She giggles and calls people silly. Out of the blue she will come up to you and talk in full sentences. She jumps off things and loves to cuddle and feed her baby dolls. Paijey is very stubborn too. Her new phrase is uh-uh- as in no no. I will tell her to put something down and she says UH UH. too cute but annoying too. She also walks around saying HI-YA and kicks or punches. Today she said it just before hitting Jeff with a drum stick. I about died laughing. Her favorite movie is Curious George. She can sing all her bed time songs and just learned the ABC song. Paije also will tell you when she goes poop. Hopefully we are getting closer to potty training. One can hope! Paije can also draw circles and loves to scribble. On the very rare occasion that I let her do arts and craft, cause she is just so messy, her favorite activity is to paint. she will paint the same thing for an hour if you let her. She also tries to tells Knock Knock jokes. She learned those from Keira, who she adores and worships. She wants to be just like her big sister. Everything Keira does so does Paije. Family Fun

Sorry its been a while since I posted. We have been really busy. The beginning of November I ended up with croup. That was a lot of fun. It took about a week to get rid of. The steroids they put me on kept me up all night. Thankfully the kids didn't get it.

Jeff and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on the 10th. We were planning to go to a red wine festival that was at one of our local wineries. Our sitter unfortunately got a stomach bug so we had to cancel our plans. Jeff and I were really looking forward to a day with out the girls. So instead we ended up taking the girls to the Seattle Children's Museum. We had a lot of fun. There was a 3 and under area and Keira was sad she couldn't go in with sister. They also had a MR. Potato head exhibit. The girls loved being able to make different potato heads over and over again. Next we went to the little grocery store where they had the kid sized carts and low shelves where the girls could shop like mommy and daddy. Paijey really liked that. Next Keira and daddy went to the hardware store and built a few things while Paije went to the taco stand and made tacos for people. It was really fun. They had a volcano in the middle that you had to "hike" up and under all the rocks there were exhibits of animals. We also let the girls go on a few rides they had at the Seattle center.

Since Jeff had a 4 day weekend we went to Leavenworth WA. Its a cute little town about 2 hours away over the pass. We drove to the top of Steven's pass and there was snow on the ground.. Keira wanted to play in it but we weren't prepared for snow. Lucky for us on the other side of the mountain there was no snow so we didn't have to worry about Keira asking. We did some wine tasting and played at the park. Keira and Paije tried to catch the leaves and they were falling. It was a fun day. we are going to rent a cabin here for a weekend when there is snow.

Keira and Paije got colds this week. Lots of snot everywhere. At least there is no fever. Keira did developed a cough though. The poor thing is on cough meds around the clock to help her out. Jeff will be the next one to get it.

Jeff was in a minor car accident. He rear ended someone. No one was hurt and the other persons car was fine. Jeff's car unfortunately wasn't. It was too expensive for the insurance company to fix. It was a Volvo and the parts and the airbag were just too much i guess. So they totaled the car and paid us out for it. So now Jeff is the proud owner of a 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee. Its really nice.

We are headed to Grace's 4th birthday party today. Keira is very excited. She picked out Gracie's present all by her self. She was asking if she could help Grace blow out the candles on the cake. we told her no but next week at Paije's party she could help Paije.

We had a great time trick or treating. Keira was Princess Aurora and Paije was Uniqua from the Backyardigans. Paijey really liked getting the candy. She would get extra cause she would keep grabbing into peoples candy dish for more. She is so little and cute they would tell her to take as many as she wanted. LOL the girl made out . Fun weekend

This weekend we had alot of fun. First there was the Backyardigan live show. OMG it was so much fun. This is Paije's favorite show. She sings the songs and waves hi to them on the TV. From the time the music started until they sang the goodbye song she sat in her chair and just watched. Her eyes where so wide the whole time. Keira loved it too. This is the 2nd nick jr live show she has seen. She yelled out when she was suppose to and sat next to Gracie the whole time. Then we came home and all napped and then went to the neighbors Halloween party.

On Sunday we went to best buy to look at a new camera for me. Jeff tried to fix my camera when it got stuck in the open position and then the whole thing broke. After that we went to the local brewery for lunch. It was fun letting the girls play out in the grass. When we were done we went to the winery to look around. Paije was in the stroller and Keira had strick instructions to hold the stroller and not let go. They were both very good. We took them outside to play in the leaves and see the ducks. We also got a great candid family picture taken there too. We finished off the day with bath times and a family movie in mommy and daddy's bed. That was a huge treat for Paije. She fell asleep laying against mommy. It was really nice. We love weekends like this. here are some pictures.

Well we are back. The trip was great!

We left Seattle on Wednesday and Keira was super excited. She was looking forward to the hotel. We finally told her where we were going at dinner Wednesday night! She was jumping out of her skin. So we took the shuttle to Disneyland. When we arrived Keira couldn't sit still. We get through the bag check point and OMG it was Granny and Papa! Now Keira was just over the moon. We spent the first day at Disney in Fantasyland and Toontown. Paije's favorite ride was Dumbo and Keira's was Gadget's roller coaster. We saw Mickey, Goofey, and others. We had dinner at the Rainforest cafe which was a huge hit until the lightning storm. Neither girl liked it. Paije stole 2 beenie babies which we didn't know about until we were too far to want to walk back. She is our clepto.

On Friday we went back to Disneyland and another great suprise for Keira her cousins Josh and Caleb were there. She loved seeing them. They went on Tarzan's tree house, roger rabbit, gadget's roller coaster, auto=topia, buzz lightyear, and tons more. The boys had so much fun. We split up at 2pm cause we had reservations at Ariel's Grotto for a late lunch with the Princesses. We walked down the spiral staircase and OMG there was Princess Ariel. Keira's most favorite princess. Lots of hugs and pictures later we sat down for our meal. We met Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, and Jasmine. Needless to say Keira didn't eat one bite of food. She was just way too excited. This day before the lunch Jeff lost his glasses. We called 4 times that day to see if anyone turned them in. Lucky for him we got them the next morning.

Saturday we hit California Adventure and hit no lines. Keira found a new rollercoster and Paije loved A bugs Land. We stayed really late and watched the Fireworks.

Sunday we met up with Hompo and had breakfast at Goofy's kitchen. We lost Paije at the hotel. She made her way up the stairs and was sitting with some nice lady chatting her ear off. We finally get our picture taken with pluto and sit down to eat. We had so much fun with my grandpa or as all the younger kids call him Hompo. The buffet breakfast was excellent! We met Goofy, Alice, Baloo, Chip and Dale. We walked around the hotel and Downtown Disney with grandpa and then headed back to California Adventure. Another surprise for Keira is her Auntie Marisa was there. We went on a lot of rides and saw the Its good to be a bug show and the Disney parade. Marisa and I stayed at the park with Paije while Jeff and Keira went to the hotel to swim. It was hot and the Santa Ana wind were there too. I went on the big roller coaster which is the ride i really wanted to go on. We had so much fun.

The girls were so well behaved. Not one tantrum the entire trip. Paije loved it. she was all over the park. She didn't mind taking naps in the stroller. The only bad thing that happened was on the plane keira threw up. I felt so bad. There was no warning she just threw up. Of course being the bad mommy I am I had no clothes for her. SO a really nice mommy gave me a swim diaper and a long t-shirt for Keira to wear under her zip up jacket. Of course I didn't have any shirts either for myself and had to thrown mine away and just wear my zip up sweat shirt. We finally got home at 10:30 at night and got cleaned up and went to bed. We are already looking at planning our Disney world trip for 2010. I will post pictures soon.

We leave for our Disney trip tomorrow. The girls clothes are pack and so is their carry on of toys, crayons, and snacks. Jeff and I still have to pack. We arrive at John Wayne airport at around 5:30. Keira still doesn't know where we are going. She now knows we are going on an airplane ride and staying at a hotel. She thinks that is the big surprise. We wont tell her until we are at the Disney gate on Thursday. She will flip. Jeff and I are so excited. I will be posting lots of pictures when we get back . Have a good weekend everyone.

Things we did this week

We had a fun weekend and week. On Saturday we went to the local corn maze. We didnt know it was a 2.5 mile maze lol so we didn't do that. We did play on the trikes and the tire swing. We also looked at the pumpkins. Sunday we stayed at home and watched football.

Keira is loving preschool. She is very excited when so goes. She is also walking around the house saying things like "apple, ah ah ah apple Apple starts with A, Banana ba ba banana banana starts with B" Its really cute. She asks me what all kinds of words start with.

Paije has learned to play Simon says. It is so cute. Watching her play with the big kids is comical. her new favorite game is to dump all the block out of the box after Keira puts them away.

Jeff and I are doing good. We had a date night on Saturday. We went to dinner and I bought some walking shoes for our trip to Disneyland. We leave next Wednesday. Keira doesn't know we are going. We did tell her we are taking a trip on an airplane and staying in a hotel. She thinks that is the big surprise.

Tonight Jeff and Keira played ponies and Cinderella. My hubby makes a great daddy pony and he is a great fairy godmother. Keira loves this time with her daddy. I am so glad she has a daddy who will play her girlie games. Here is this weeks pictures.

From the day Paije was born Keira loved her. It was quite evident when she came to the hospital to see her new baby sister and she wouldn't let anyone else hold her. We had to bribe her to let her grandma, grandpa, and even her daddy hold her new little sister. It was also evident at the time that Paijey already loved her big sissy. Whenever Keira would run by or stop to squeeze her foot Paije would light up. Yes of course they fight and make each other cry but for the most part they are really good together. Keira calls Paije her best friend. Here are some pictures over the last 2 years of the girls together. I love watching them grow up together.

Keira's Hearing test

Jeff and I have had some concerns about Keira's speech and hearing. We went to the hearing and balance center today and she passed the hearing test with flying colors. She hear 100% out of both ears. I asked about her sensitivity to loud noises and he said it was completely normal and it should mellow out in the next 5 years and can take as long as until she is 10. The next step is to get her speech tested. Although she is getting a lot clearer now and we found out a lot of sounds she is having trouble with is normal for her age. So mostly likely it's just mama being overly cautious.

I have a new addiction. Its called Rock Band 2. Jeff picked it up yesterday and we have played it a lot since then. Don't worry the kids aren't being neglected....yet. We played so much today that my hand is all crampy from holding the guitar. Paije bops her head to the music. The girl has some serious rhythm already.

Keira had her first soccer game this Saturday. She only played about half the time. She gets really shy with large groups of people especially when they are watching her. There was some crying but we got her to kick the ball. Mommy and daddy had to take turns running with her. She even scored a goal. I will post pictures soon.

Keira-" Mommy is Miss Megan your friend?"
Me- " Yes she is my friend."
Keira-" Do you guys like to hang out?"
Me-"Yes we like to do things together, Why do you ask?"
Keira- (great big smile) " I have an idea!"
Me- "oh?"
Keira " I think you and Miss Megan need to have a play date."
Me- "oh ya you think so?"
Keira- " Uh-huh and then Miss Megan can bring Gracie and we can watch you guys play"
Then she hands me my phone.....

For lunch we went to Red Robin and a big group came in and several of the women had really big Texas hair.

Fall has arrived

The days are warm and the nights are cool. Fall has come. I love fall in the Pacific Northwest. All the rain in the winter and spring makes for a really pretty fall. The girls are doing well. Keira just got over a UTI and kidney infection. She was spiking a fever of 104.2 so we took her to the ER. yep lots of fun. Paije is breaking in those molars. She has been grumpy for a few days. I also think she has my fall allergies. Poor girl is living up to her nickname again..Boogie. Jeff has his first cold in a while and is sitting over here sniffing and coughing.

Keira loves to get her face painted. When ever we go to places that have face painting she always wants it done. So at the store we bought some face paint. I am very limited in what I can do so my specialty right now is a puppy dog. I ordered a book and better face paint so that I can get better. here are our puppies.

I just finished a 4 book series by Stephanie Meyer. Its the twilight series. I haven't been this caught up in a series since Harry Potter. I finished the series in a week and a half. My poor children and hubby were neglected. I love when I find books like this.

Jeff and I went to the Seattle Seahawks game with Megan and Sam. It was alot of fun. I love the game of football. Let me tell you this stadium is so freaking loud. Seattle won against the raiders. We also had great seats. At the 10 yard line in the club level in row C. Awesome view from there. here are a few pictures of the game.

For those who haven't been to our house here are pictures of the girls rooms. Keira has a big girl room done in lime green and pink. She helped put all the wall decals on. Paije's room is done in the Backyardigans. She loves it and yells " LOOK PABLO" as she points to the characters. We also had to get rid of the crib even though it was also a toddler bed. Paije kept getting her legs caught between the slats. It was too dangerous to keep it and risk her breaking her leg. We bought the Deigo toddler bed and decorated it with backyardigan stickers. When Paije stops
climbing on things we will put furniture in her room.

We also went to the local county fair this week. We didnt take the camera but both Keira and Paije had fun. Paije even ran onto a few rides. Both of the girls loved the mirror maze. Until keira slammed into one at full speed. we saw lots of her friends at the fair. We have one picture I think..

Paije has learned to eat from an ice cream cone. Its very messy but she loves it. I only put a tablespoon amount in the cone to just fill the inside. She thinks its great. Anything big sister does Paije wants to do too.

So tonight Keira played beauty shop with daddy. It started out as a joke I played on Gracie's parents. Keira came home with one eye started to turn red and brown. She got kicked by accident. Gracie told her daddy she did it while trying to do a flip. While she was telling her daddy she also showed him what she did. Sam asked for a picture. I took a few but it doesn't show up well on camera cause its so light. I decided to darken it up a bit and send it to them. Yes I am evil. Well after I was done putting the make up on Keira she put some on daddy. Jeff just loved it. I have to say my hubby looks awesome as a whore. hehehe I have blue eye shadow on too. Keira likes the bright colors. Poor daddy we can always hope Paijey turns into a tomboy......

Olympics

Keira loves watching the Olympics. She really enjoys the swimming and gymnastics. She says she is going to be in the Olympics, and Paijey too. Keira is going to be a super fast swimmer and beat the boys. Paijey is going to be doing flips on the bars like the pretty girls with glitter on t.v.

For those who don't know my wedding ring snapped. I got it caught on something and damn near ripped my finger off. So it has been sitting in Jeff's nightstand drawer for about 2 months now. I keep saying I need to take it down to get fixed. Needless to say the women who can barley find time to go to the doctor never got around to taking the ring in to get fixed. So while I was at the amusement park Jeff and Paije went to the jeweler and had my ring fixed. I was so happy. I love my ring. So THANKS to my hubby!!

I like to call people and just ramble on and on about the cute things my kidos are doing at the moment. I try to listen about the other persons day too but ya I ramble. Mostly I ramble to Marisa. She is always so patient with me and I am sure she is so sick of listening to me go on and on and on. Thanks Marisa for listening to me.

Like most people I am blessed, or not depending on how you look at it, with a large extended family. I have a lot of girlfriends who have horrible in laws, I don't. My in laws are really good people. We may not agree on each others life choices but it's all good. They are not mean, overbearing, obsessive, passive aggressive, drama creators, or any of the other things some of my girlfriends have to deal with. We all respect each other enough and love each other enough to live and let live. Thanks to my in laws!

Keira ran from the car today through a parking lot. She knows better. Thanks to the stranger who grabbed her mid stride and carried her back to me!!!

Thanks to the mom at the coffee shop who gave me a diaper when I realized I was out. Believe me no one wanted to drive home with Paije smelling like that!

Now that I have just bored everyone, I will get back to watching the Olympics.

Amusement Park Fun

The amusement park was fun. The girls had a really long day. We all got up at 8am and drove to the park and got there just after it opened. Unfortunately it wasn't too warm on Friday. I was hoping it would last but this is Seattle and well if you don't like the weather wait ten minutes is the saying around here.

We did all the rides we could with the girls. I think the favorite was the frog hopper. Keira was so excited and poor Grace was so scared she started crying before the ride even started. We told the ride operator to just start the ride. After 10 seconds grace was laughing just like Keira.

Another favorite ride was the sack slide. the girls walked all the way up alone with their sacks and went down the great big slide. Keira loved it.

We also went on boats, cars, ferris wheel, ship, and a paratrooper ride that made both mommies really sick. But both girls loved it so it was worth it.

After the rides we hit the water park. The kiddie area was lots of fun but the water was ice cold. We headed to the congo river and floated around. After the river we saw an inter tube ride we really wanted to go on. When I say we I mean the moms. So we got the 4 person inter tube and headed up the 5 flights of stairs. We get to the top and had to tell the girls a small white lie. Yes we are evil moms. We start to go down and its all fun and slow then we hit the first drop and thats when poor Grace lost it. She started screaming. We are slinging up the sides of this slide. Keira had the first to get slung up and she was high up the slide then we switched sides and it was Grace's turn to ride the side of the slide. Megan and I were laughing the whole time. Then at the bottom we hit the pool and Megan went flying head over heels backwards into the water. Poor girl has a hurt back and we didn't think anything bad was gonna happen. After I found out she was fine I was laughing so hard. I couldn't get out of this darn inter tube and Grace was still crying. Of course my girl was asking to go again. We really all had a lot of fun. We left the park at 4:30 and headed to the hotel. It was a really tiring day but we really enjoyed it.

The newest member of our family

For those who don't know we have a puppy. She is an English bulldog/ Australian shepherd mix. She is now 12 weeks old and a little fireball. Paije was terrified of her for the first week or so. We always knew when the pup went near her because she would scream like someone was taking her out of my arms. Keira likes the idea of a puppy but is also a bit afraid of her.

Keira has named 2 of our animals. The kitten we got her for her 2nd birthday she named Swiper. Yep she was 2 so Dora was a favorite. This time since the puppy was her 4th birthday gift she decided to name her puppy Kinzie. Kinzie also happens to be the name of her only girl cousin. Her cousin who is 2 years older then her. Keira loves Kinzie and misses her cousin so much she just had to name the puppy Kinzie. You have no idea how weird it is to yell "Kinzie don't pee on the floor" "Don't let Kinzie eat the poop!" Ya Jeff and I laugh. We tried for 2 days to get Keira to change her mind. But her response was " I love my Kinzie, I miss her so much, so I want to name my puppy Kinzie so I wont miss her so much" mmmmm ya how do you argue with that? So I introduce Puppy Kinzie.

Big Girls

We took the plunge and moved Paije into a big girl bed. After a 1/2 hour search in the boxes in the garage I finally found the little pieces I needed to convert the crib into the toddler bed. Paije loves it. We have not had one problem with it. I thought for sure the first night I would have to go up and down the stairs and finally let her cry it out. She sure showed me. I went to check on her that night and she was sound asleep in the bed. We are going on night number 3 and so far no problem. For nap time she stays in bed too. She does play a bit before actually falling asleep but she did that in the crib too.

Keira has an exciting weekend this week. On Friday we are going to the amusement park/water park. We are going with her best friend Grace and her mommy Megan. It should be fun. Then on Sunday Jeff got tickets for the Mariners and they are going with Grace and her daddy Sam. Keira and Grace love each other so much. When ever they see each other its so over exaggerated, they yell each others name and then do the Kodak run with the arms open wide for the big hug. Man can those two fight though. They fight like sisters already. Alls I have to say is its a good thing the parents like each other cause these two are inseparable.

Time out

Last night Jeff went to see Dark Knight, so it was just the girls and myself at home. I was busy cleaning up and I hear Keira yell," MOMMY Paijey is on the back of the couch." So I tell Paije to get down. Keira says she will help and got Paije down. Then Keira says that Paije needs a time out. I say ok put her in time out, knowing Paije will sit for all of 10 seconds then get up and play. I keep cleaning and then I hear a weird sound. It was a clanking sound. So I finish loading the laundry and then go in search of the sound. This is what I found....

Keira then tells me since Paije wont sit in time out and stay there that she put her in the dog crate so she would stay. Then she had Paije show me that it wasnt locked...

So I then had to try not to laugh and tell Keira that she wasn't allowed to put sister in the dog crate. It was really hard not to laugh. Of course Paije thought it was a game and I couldn't get her out of it. I find her in the crate whenever the pup isn't in there. Got to love life with a toddler and preschooler!

Houdini

Paije is 20 months old now. She is too clever. Very mischievous. She knows how to use the blankets in her crib to climb out. Yep now she just gets 1 thin blanket to sleep with. The only stuff animals in her crib are little. She has done this twice now. I guess its time to remove the side of the crib and turn it into a toddler bed. I am not ready for that. I am not ready for the constant going back up the stairs to put her back into bed. I remember it took Keira 3 weeks to switch. We finally had to let her cry it out and fall asleep on the floor in front of the door and then move her to the bed. I am not looking forward to doing that again. But I have no choice.

Another thing my Houdini is doing is climbing up the chairs of the dinning table and sitting on the table to get to whatever she wants. So far she hasn't tried to get back down on her own yet... At least once a day Keira yells, " MOMMY Paijey is on the table again!! BAD PAIJEY!" then Paije proceeds to cry cause her big sister who she worships just yelled at her.

Now she is trying to climb out of her high chair. When she feels she is done she stands up in the highchair. I can no longer leave her in the kitchen while I pick up the house. I have to stay close by cause when she is done thats it. So we have started to let her eat at the table. She loves eating like a big girl with her sister. She is so little compared to Keira.

Paije has us on our toes all the time. We are constantly asking "where is Paije? Do you see Paije?" an our favorite one is of course, "Keira go find Paije and tell us what she is doing." LOL thats usually when both Jeff and I are done. Keira was never a climber. It still amazes me how different my two girls are.

Ok so those who know me know I don't really like to clean. In fact I am known to let dishes sit in the sink or let the laundry pile up for quite some time before actually doing it. Even then its no guarantee that I won't have to restart the washer at least twice cause i forget to switch the clothes. BUT... since we have moved into our new home I have been really good about keeping it clean. I clean up every night and try not to let dishes pile up. I am not by any means a clean freak but no longer am I a slob. Ok yes the laundry is a whole other issue.

Today Keira and I went shopping for a carpet cleaner. I am so sick of cleaning the rooms in my house and my carpet looks like crap. So we bought one. Its a Bissell proheat 2x select pet .

I love this thing. My playroom which had a bunch of little black spots from spilled juice boxes and whatever else was there is now clean. No more spots. Same for the living room where Jeff and I watch tv at night. Now I have to figure out how to keep the kids and hubby from dropping stuff on the floor.......

I can't believe how excited I am over this damn carpet cleaner lol Boy have I changed over the last few years LOL

Intorduction

My name is Dee. I have been happily married for almost 7 years to Jeff. We have 2 girls, Keira age 4, and Paije 20 months. I am a stay at home mom and very glad that we are able to do this for my children. Keira is in preschool and Paije hangs out with me during the day.

Right now Keira is really starting to get some MAJOR attitude. There is lots of talk back and battles of the wills. I am not sure how to handle it sometime. I want her to be stubborn its a great trait later in life, I just need to figure out how to get it toned down for now. We have lots of battles over the littlest things. I do pick my battles carefully because I feel its important for her to know that she has a little bit of control over how she acts and for what she wants. She is very artistic and loves to draw pictures. She has a wicked sense of humor and loves everyone she meets.

Paije has some major separation anxiety right now. The girl can cry for quite sometime and not give up. Its a little frustrating but i know its because she is with me all the time. She is involved in a few mommy and me classes in our community and we finally have her accustomed to our babysitter. She is starting to become more of a daddy's girls, which I am loving. Its nice to be able to not have her always hanging on me. I love that now she will go to daddy and even chooses him over me.

Well I hope I get better at this. I have never tried blogging before, but thought it would be fun.
